COVID-19 Notice to Customers

March 20, 2020

To Our Customers:

As we continue to monitor the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share with you what CIT Trucks is doing to prevent the spread of this virus, while still providing vital services and support to you, our customers.

CIT Trucks is currently focused on two fundamental concerns as we work through this difficult time together:

  • The safety of our employees, customers, and vendors.

  • Continuing to provide vital support to our customers and their efforts to supply our country’s needs.

CIT Trucks is following the guidance of the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) on preventing the spread of COVID-19. We have implemented the following steps with our employees, customers, and vendors:

  • We have instructed all employees to stay home when they are sick or if they are caring for a sick family member.

  • We have provided all CIT employees with the CDC guidelines on preventing the spread of COVID-19. Specifically reminding employees to do the following:

    • Wash hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer, if unable to wash hands.

    • Keep hands away from mouth, nose, or eyes to avoid transferring germs.

    • Cover mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze, and discard used tissues in the trash.

    • Avoid contact with people who are sick with respiratory symptoms.

    • Do not shake hands with employees, customers, etc., and avoid close contact, maintaining the social distancing guideline of six feet of separation.

  • In addition to the increased cleaning and disinfecting now taking place in our dealerships by our cleaning staff, we have instructed employees to regularly clean frequently touched surfaces in their workplace, such as phones, keyboard, countertops, and door handles.

  • CIT Trucks is requiring employees to use telephone and video conferencing instead of traveling to face-to-face meetings during this outbreak.

  • CIT Trucks is implementing a 30 day suspension (date subject to change) of business-related air travel, all off-site employee and customer training classes and events, plant tours, and industry trade shows.

  • We are open for business and committed to ensuring minimal disruptions to your business during this outbreak. Each CIT Trucks location will operate in a manner that provides our employees a safe work environment while continuing to provide top quality service to our customers.

  • We have instructed all CIT Trucks Sales Representatives to communicate with customers by telephone and video conferencing instead of traveling to face-to-face meetings at this time.

  • CIT Trucks Parts, Service, and Body Shop Departments are all open for business as usual. We are asking our customers to utilize telephone and video conferencing, our on-line parts counter services, and our service call centers as much as possible to reduce face-to-face contact during this outbreak. If you do need to come to our dealerships to conduct business, we ask that you sanitize your hands and maintain social distancing guidelines.

  • We continue to deliver parts on regular customer schedules, as well as emergency basis. We have asked our delivery staff to maintain social distancing with all customer employees. We will be glad to drop your parts in a designated area at your facility at your request to avoid face-to-face interaction.

  • Our driver lounges will be closed during this outbreak.

  • We are not allowing any non-essential visitors into our facilities for the time being.

  • We are asking all vendors to communicate with CIT Trucks personnel by telephone and video conferencing instead of face-to-face meetings at this time.

Please do not enter our facilities if you are or have recently experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or body aches.

Now, as perhaps never before, the trucking and transportation industry is essential to the safety, security, and prosperity of our country. We want you to know that CIT Trucks is focused on continuing to provide services and support to our customers, assisting in your efforts to supply vital support to our communities.

These times make us mindful of the selfless contributions our truckers and customers are making in support of the nation. You are vital to the nation’s success in dealing with this pandemic, and we thank you for your tireless efforts and choosing to do business with CIT Trucks, LLC. We will continue to advise you on our business practices pertaining to COVID-19 as events develop.
