Rockford, IL - CIT Trucks - Rockford took home the prestigious title of Mack Masters Champions by beating out over 250 competing teams from North and South America. After intense competition in the final round, Jim Garner, Service Manager, Tim Stahl, Foreman, along with technicians TJ Stahl and Chris Zahara earned the honor of winning the 2017 competition including the crystal display trophy. Hosted by Mack Trucks Academy, the teams composed of parts, warranty and service professionals competed in challenges related to everyday customer service issues. The competition fuses individual expertise with problem solving skills, producing more experienced and confident service teams. For the nearly 1,000 men and women participating, it was an extraordinary test of skill, collaboration and problem solving.

When asked about the outcome of the event, Nate Holland, General Manager of CIT Trucks Rockford stated, "I could not be more proud of our team. Through their efforts at the Mack Masters competition, they have exemplified the excellence that we work to achieve every day in our service department.”

In the first qualifying round, CIT Trucks’ winning Mack Masters team found themselves in close competition with their counterparts, also from CIT Trucks - Rockford, emerging as the winner by only one point. After completing the first two rounds, both with a 100% score, the leading CIT Trucks team went into the championship round with high optimism and displayed outstanding teamwork. All competing technicians gained 10 hours of skill-boosting and service excellence training with the final teams completing over 40 hours.

Erick Miner, President of CIT Trucks, commented, “The teamwork and product knowledge displayed by our technicians in this esteemed competition is inspiring. They should embrace this award with great pride and honor, as we are certainly proud of all their hard work and dedication to serving our customers.”

The Mack Masters competition invites teams from around the world to show what they are truly made of. This year’s competition saw record breaking registration numbers, and included hundreds of hours of research and collaboration in two grueling qualifying rounds of online theoretical questions. In the final round, the leading teams from nine different international regions gathered at the Mack Customer Center in Allentown, PA to battle it out in the intense hands-on portion of the competition where they were required to work together to solve problems and answer questions in timed training scenarios.
