The Mack Pioneer is a new standard in trucking, designed to redefine efficiency, uptime, safety, and comfort. It’s a breakthrough in long-haul design for both fleets and drivers. The truck was created based on deep industry insight, cutting-edge engineering, and a focus on the driver.
Its exterior features numerous aerodynamic enhancements, including a recessed Bulldog hood ornament, a three-piece hood, and a new Mack Aero Windshield, all contributing to up to 11% better fuel economy. The truck also offers a new Aero Max Package, which combines features like a roof deflector, wheel covers, and fully enclosed chassis fairings for maximum efficiency. For safety, the Pioneer can be equipped with a Digital Mirror System that uses cameras and interior screens to provide clear, real-time views, while the cab itself is made of fully welded, high-strength steel for crash protection.
The Pioneer’s powertrain is built for power and efficiency. The new Mack MP13 engine delivers up to 515 horsepower and 1,950 lb-ft of torque, and is 3% more fuel-efficient than the MP8 engine. The engine is paired with the new Mack mDRIVE transmission, which provides 30% faster and smoother shifting. For the driver, the cabin is the most spacious Mack has ever built. The interior features a flat-bottom steering wheel for more room, as well as an optional integrated parking cooler to maintain a comfortable cabin environment without idling. An advanced MaxRide Air suspension system uses eight tuned airbags to provide a stable and comfortable ride.
